frequently asked questions & Info

Weekend appointments

We are in a secure building - we like being safe and secure. That being said, on the weekends the elevator requires a key fob to get up to the 5th floor. You will need to  text/email/call your artist to get up to the shop.

Do I need to worry about parking?

Yes and no.  We have an events page with links to Saints games for the summertime. Check the events to see if there's a game, parking might be annoying and expensive if there's a game so check out our parking page as well.

Where do I go?

We are in the Northwestern Building on 4th and Wall  St. The entrance to the building is on 4th Street. Take the elevator up to the 5th floor. Take a left off the elevator, another left and a left at the end of the hallway. We're Suite 580, come on in!

Do you do piercings?

No, but we are friends with the coolest piercing parlor in town. Visit Electric Strawberry Piercing for all your rad jewelry upgrades and hole poking needs. Tell them Lowertown Tattoo sent ya.

Can I bring a friend?

It depends on studio space  and privacy needs. Check with your artist. We currently have a full house, so we prefer if you come alone. Please don't bring several people with you unless they're all getting tattooed. We may request your group leave and come back after you're done - but don't worry, there's tons to do in Lowertown!

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • Bring a legal form of photo ID
  • Eat a good meal
  • Come rested (get plenty of sleep the night before if you can)
  • Come sober, we can't tattoo you if you're under the influence
  • Come clean (take a shower)
  • Bring a snack and/or something to drink
  • Bring some headphones or a tablet to watch a movie if you're having a longer session
  • You can pre-shave the area before your appointment (saves us a razor) but it's not required
  • Check your travel time and plan for parking/walking time
  • Do not use numbing creams or ointments without talking with your tattooer first!

Can I see the drawing before my appointment?

Jeannie sends out drawings 1 week to a few days prior to the appointment. She does this to alleviate any anxiety that comes along with getting tattooed.

Adam typically does not send out drawings, that doesn't mean he won't send one out. Check with him to see if that's something he can do for you.

Rylee draws his work on so you wont get art ahead of time.

Check with your artist.

How should I pay?

You will pay your artist directly. Cash is always preferred but we take a few different forms of payment. Make sure you have your payment ready to go.

  • Jeannie takes Venmo, Cash and CashApp.
  • Adam takes cash, credit /debit cards (service fee may apply) and Square payments.
  • Rylee takes square, cash and venmo.
  • Kevin takes cash and venmo.

Your artist may be interested in trade work if you have a skill that could benefit them. Check with your artist if they're interested in trade work. You must negotiate trade work PRIOR to getting tattooed.

Where's the bathroom?

The gender neutral bathroom is inside the stairwell near our entrance  (just to the left if you're leaving our suite) and on the 3rd floor.

The women's bathroom is on the 4th floor (take the elevator down to the 4th floor, go through the door with the exit sign into the stairwell - you will see a restroom sign).

The men's bathroom is just down the hall  (Look for the exit sign near the elevators, go through the door into the stairwell - you will see the restroom sign).

You will need a key to access the bathrooms and to get back into the main hallway.

Are you taking apprentices?

No.

Go to college so you can get a job that gives you health insurance and benefits.  XOXO Love you.

Do you take guest artists?

Yes! You must be licensed as a full blown tattoo artist and blood borne pathogen certified. We don't offer walk-ins as we're not a street shop so you'll need to book your clientele. Reach out to Jeannie with any questions. Jeannie@lowertowntattoo.com
